Prayer flower

The Maranta leuconeura, known commonly as the Prayer Plant, is a vividly colored tropical plant native to South America. These beautiful little plants are well loved for their decorative leaves, so it may come as a surprise that Prayer Plants can also produce flowers. This image was taken at Kew Gardens, London, UK.
